Danny Hutton and Charles Schoen from Three Dog Night played for the sold out Medina Ballroom.Danny Hutton and Charles Schoen from Three Dog Night We are all here to make a statement with our music.Thank God it’s not all the same. ‘We do have a choice of what we listen to’ says Charles. The main thing is music is the international language and may we find peace in our hearts by sharing the notes of love with one another. Keep the faith.

Charles Schoen-The Fabulous Del Counts is (as many say) quite simply one of the best R&B singers in the Twin Cities, and he has been – ever since his band mates snuck him into his first actual ‘gig’ playing the drums for his new “Del Counts” band at the Marigold Ballroom, in 1964. “I was either 15 or 16 years old, too young to go in through the front door” says Charles.

Charles SchoenCharlie Schoen and The “Fabulous” Del Counts have been performing in and around the Twin Cities ever since. In fact, The “Fabulous” Del Counts recently celebrated their 50th anniversary at The Medina Ballroom.

No other local band can make such a claim. From the Blues of Howlin’ Wolf to the great hit songs of The Young Rascals, The Temptations and the Four Tops and many of the best R&R songs of the 50’s-70’s and more.

Charles sings and plays them all with equal professionalism and pride in his role as the Elder-Statesman of both The “Fabulous” Del Counts, and in the Minnesota music scene.

Charles Schoen and The “Fabulous” Del Counts were inducted into the MN Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
